Our Annual Reunion Day was showery, some heavy, thundery ones, and there was a chill in the air too. Later in the day the sun did shine for us. That said, the day was a very happy and fun day. There were about 42 people, comprising Old Scholars, family, friends and carers, plus invited guests, Helen Hewitt the Chief Executive and the Rev. Paul Mundy Rector of Newick parish, who conducted our lovely Thanksgiving Service, in St. Martin's Chapel. Mr. Andy Rees played the organ for us.We came out to "The Ships in Chailey Dockyard". Howard Hawes collected the Dame Grace memorial wreath from the altar and laid it beneath her memorial in the porch, while Rev. Paul gave a prayer and blessing. We tucked into a scrumptious lunch, once more provided by "Twizzles". Lovely Volunteers helped serve and replenish the plates of those who had room left for second helpings!Ann and Pam gave out quizzes and raffle tickets, both to take place after our AGM. There will be a report on that in the next Magazine. After all that using our "little grey cells" we needed refreshment, so it was tea and delicious cakes before we parted for another year. Just to let you all know well in advance, next year's Annual Reunion will on Saturday,9th May.Janet Wilkins, Chairman.
